Title: Some pearls of integer-valued polynomials and beyond
Abstract
In this talk, we introduce the ring of integer-valued polynomials and discuss a few algebraic properties of it. We shall see a generalization of this ring in the case of an algebraic number field and state, without proof, how the properties of the ring are governed by the arithmetic of the number field. We end this talk by defining the Polya group of a number field that measures the obstruction of the ring of integer-valued polynomials from admitting a regular basis.
